Thanksgiving with friends

Another lovely dinner and lovely evening. All the dishes were perfectly prepared; variety: kimchee pork ribs, salmon, turkey, perfect veggies. A cheerful meal with friends. Does not get much better.

Nyc ballet trip day 3

Another warm day

Breakfast at Baltazar

Last night’s ballet was a bigger success for me as I happen to like some of the Russian classical, less so for Sharon . She preferred Thursday night.

Last night ballet also had two events going on so fancy dress black tie fancy dresses lots of Wealth.

Neil’s

Café Luxembourg had good food, but kitchen fell too far behind and we had to leave before we could really finish dinner properly.

Breakfast at Balthazar

Bagel line
Cheese. Murry’s
Start of the highline

Leaves turning. Nice planting on the railroad track.
Fish band
We are not the only ones walking the highline

Dinner: red farm, uptown on Broadway this time. First time here usually we go to the one on Hudson.

Soup dumplings
Chile chicken, noodle, beans &broccoli

Tonight: Coppelia

Outstanding. Both dance and orchestra.

Nyc Ballet trip next day

Second day of New York blog. Yesterday’s plan of updating it throughout the day even as late as almost midnight worked out well so I will probably continue the method.

What is New York coming to even has safety nets

Another early morning, breakfast at the News Cafe on university place.  Fortunately Sarah could join us.

At NewsCafe
Sarah’s sketches Central Park

Sarah

Walking through Union Square lots and lots of booths with K Harris paraphernalia

Blow up image to see Trump as removing the orange stain

Union square enormous farmers market

Wandering through soho. Stopped at the CVS to pick up some Band-Aids for blister and they were far far tonight;again is New York coming to?

The CVS is in a decrepit building that used to be the village gate. It looks like it should be torn down apparently it’s protected historically which is why it has a weird architecture, terrible façade and no redeeming features at all.

Interior of Balthazar

Wandering through Soho fighting our way through large clouds and unfortunately mostly chain stores. Virtually all stores in Soho seem to be chained now except on one street or so.

The fantastic sticky buns from Balthazar available at the bakery, used to be available as Selfridge, but no more
Speed chest people in the background in Washington Park

Long history of Famous shills doing this, many quite quite good

Dinner, Cafe Luxembourg

On our way, walking up to the dinner we stopped at Eataly.

Flower and pumpkin garden on Amsterdam Avenue upper West side

Dinner badly rushed because the kitchen was late and we had to leave by 7 o’clock to make the ballet. Left Neil still eating only partially through his steak.
